#BlueTooth is one radio protocol being built into a lot of devices that is helping to erode privacy, but there are many more. Rob Braxman, a licensed #HamRadio operator, has some really good ideas about countering the threat that these devices pose, but the best way by far to counter them is: NOT TO BUY THESE DEVICES IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I know the Pegasus spyware was developed by Israel, but this concept of a smartphone as a #Surveillance device is really nothing new.
Think about it:
You have a handheld computer device that has all of these sensors and components that allow it to gather information about it's surroundings: Cameras, Microphones, Accelerometers, #GPS just to name a the most obvious.
Couple this with the ability to store large amounts of data and transmit / receive data wirelessly to the internet
Couple this with an operating system that controls all these sensors & wireless communications activities, and can be re-programmed remotely without the user's knowledge.
Finally, couple all this with the absence of any "hard", physical on / off switches (all functions & modules are controlled by programmed settings) and the inability to remove the battery.

We are becoming way too dependent on Smart devices. We put massive pieces of machinery of all types, from the largest commercial aircraft, to mining equipment and hospital life support systems to almost all of the motor vehicles being built today; under the control of computer programs running on silicon chips.
As these silicon chips become more powerful and their microscopic transistors and components become more and more densely packed, almost approaching the atomic level, the random sub-atomic particle traversing the universe can change a single bit of information and cause them to operate in unpredictable and disastrous ways.
To build these devices with the proper shielding to prevent the incursion of these sub-atomic particles would be cost prohibitive in most cases.
What we really need to do, is reconsider our "need" to computerize and microchip everything, because statistically we are setting ourselves up for a catastrophic, cascading failure event.

Your kids certainly don't need to be exposed to all of that microwave radiation / EMF that is being put out by Wifi & cellular phones if they are accessing the internet in your own home, or at a place that has hard-wired internet (Ethernet) connections.
For under $30 you can get an Ethernet to USB adapter and a standard (RJ45) cable.
Most wireless / #SmartDevices phones, tablets and even laptop computers nowadays do not have "old fashioned" Ethernet ports for wired internet.
However, pretty much all of them have USB ports or some other connection that you can an Ethernet adapter for.
ALWAYS opt for a hard wired internet connection whenever it is available and practical. People really need to limit their exposure to RF & EMF radiation, especially children.

I don't know who thinks that putting a microwave emitting device IN, or directly NEXT TO your ear is a good idea, but it's definitely NOT. Use wired headphones, and reduce your exposure to wireless devices, period.

People: Smart phones have got to be the worst thing for society EVER and are responsible for so much harm, dumbing people down, time wasting, and empowering & expanding the
